There is an upsurge in the cases of cancer in the U.S and indeed worldwide.
With nearly 1.5 million people diagnosed with one form of cancer or the other, it has become pertinent that everyone is cautious of those carcinogenic foods that can cause the development of cancerous cells in the body.
Here are some foods you should be wary of;
1. Avoid Farmed Salmon
It is estimated that more than 60% of all salmon consumed in the U.S are farm raised.
It is believed that these fish are fed with feeds that are contaminated with pesticides, antibiotics and known carcinogenic chemicals.
These salmons live in a crowded environment and are likely to have more sea lice than those salmons raised in the wild.
These salmons are also fed with chemicals to give their flesh that reddish pink colour that should happen naturally.
Farmed salmons also have less solid omega-3 than their naturally raised relatives because of their eating regimen. It has also been discovered that farmed salmons have large amounts of mercury, PCB and cancer causing dioxins. Stay clear of canned salmon and if you have to buy it fresh then check the label to ensure that what you purchase is actually wild sockeye salmon.
2. Stay Clear Of Canned Tomatoes
The can of canned food is lined with a chemical known as bisphenol-A or BPA.
In a 2013 study by the National Academy of Sciences it was discovered that BPA has a great effect on the body similar to how genes act in the cerebrum of lab rats.
The high acidity in tomatoes make them very hazardous and when the BPA gets into the tomatoes as a result of this, it makes the tomatoes even more dangerous.
FDA laws do not mandate the stating of BPA on the labels but that does not mean it isn’t there, so avoid canned tomatoes and go for fresh organic ones.
3. Stay Off Soda Pop
It is believed that people that consume a soda a day stand a higher chance of having a stroke than those that don’t drink sodas.

Microwave popcorn packs are believed to be lined with a poisonous chemical known as perfluorooctanoic acid ( PFOA).
It is believed that overexposure to this chemical can lead to liver, kidney, testicular, bladder and pancreas cancers.
Most microwave popcorn use soybean oil (which is a GMO product) as well as other additives such as propyl gallate, which causes skin rashes and digestive problems.
6. Careful With Those Potato Chips
You will gain weight quickly if you consume potato chips as they are packed with calories and fat.
It is believed that consuming just an ounce of potato chips daily will lead to a two pound increase in weight in a year, this was published by the New England Journal of medicine.
Potato chips are also loaded with high amounts of sodium which can lead to hypertension in people.

7. Eating Highly Smoked, Pickled Or Salted Food Is Bad For You
Nitrate cured foods or foods with nitrites which act as preservatives as well as coloring to meat are bad for you.
These foods change to N-nitroso once in your body and this is known to cause cancer.
Nuts and meat that are smoked are packed full of tar which is similar to that in cigarettes and this is a cancer causing agent.
Your bacon, salami and sausages are high in sodium and fat that can lead to colorectal cancer as well as stomach malignancy which is common place in places like Japan known for its salted and smoked food.
8. Genetically Modified Food
These are foods that have been grown with chemicals and also modified by chemicals.

It was found that cancer cells feed on fructose-rich sweeteners such as high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS).
This is because malignancy cells metabolized HFCS more effectively and quickly.
Your soft drinks, pies, cakes, cereals and juices are packed with refined sugar and HFCS indicating why tumors and cancer are on an increase these days.
10. Quit Eating Red Meat
It was discovered in a study spanning over 10 Years that eating red meat even in small quantities increased a man’s risk of acquiring cancer by 22% while that of a woman increased by 20%.
Cancers such as prostate, colon and breast cancer is common place.
In another study on 150,000 subjects aged between 50 and 74 it was discovered that colon cancer was common when red meat was consumed regularly.
You should eat more of poultry and fish rather than red meat if you want to reduce your risk of getting colon cancer.
